Keyboarding in the Medical Office: Sessions 1-60 allows your students to become skilled at keyboarding while also preparing to deal with the language and documents they will find working in the fast-growing medical administration field.
It comes with new, Web-based Paradigm Keyboarding with Snap software. This software combines the proven learning activities—Key Drills, Speed Drills, Timed Short Drills, Thinking Drills, and checked timings and documents—of Paradigm's keyboarding products with a Windows-based word processor that allows instructors to teach medical document production without having to use another software package.
Paradigm Keyboarding with Snap also features a report function that tracks all exercises completed by the student. It provides comparative data of timings and production documents shown as both tables and graphs.
In addition, Paradigm Keyboarding with Snap provides a Web-based Learning Management System (LMS) with which instructors can track performance for both individual students and sections. You can also communicate with students over the Web using the LMS. Great for distance learning!
Comprehensive Program
The accompanying textbook presents in an attractive, concise way the basics of keying, composition, and medical document production.
Sessions 1-30 focus on teaching key reaches. Students are drilled on new keys and move from keying letters to words to sentences. Students are introduced to letter keys, numbers and symbols, and the 10-key numeric keypad.
Sessions 31-33 provide skill building review exercises allowing students to strengthen the skills they have acquired in the first 30 sessions.
Sessions 34-60 teach students how to create and manage files and how to create memos, letters, reports, manuscripts, and tables using real-world medical documents as models. The software checks documents for speed and accuracy and saves the results to a student report. In addition, in each session the student is given an exercise where he or she composes an original document in response to a real-world medical workplace situation.
Keyboarding in the Medical Office: Sessions 1-60 offers:
- Web-based software—students can access the program anywhere they can access the Internet.
- Learning Management System—allows the instructor to easily view both student files and student score data.
- Mastery approach—master keystrokes and production document types, then move on to others.
- Production exercises reflect real-life medical memos, emails, dictation, reports, and manuscripts.
