Young people often have little or no direct knowledge of what employers look for when they consider candidates for job openings. And many young people think they have no skills. But they do not understand that employers are interested in "adaptive" skills—things like being on time, being reliable, and taking initiative.

When Can You Start? targets these and many other issues young people can tackle to make good impressions. For example, most employers require employment applications, and young people can gain a real edge by being neat and complete on their applications!
